Growing With Grace

Growing With Grace is a unique market garden. We produce all our own-grown crops from five large glasshouses with a combined area of two acres, surrounded by the Yorkshire Dales to the north and the Forest of Bowland to the south. As well as growing the veg you might expect to see under glass – tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, etc – we also produce a wide range of salads, herbs and other leafy greens. From our Forest Garden, we harvest pears, cherries, quince and even figs. We like to seek out heritage and unusual varieties to compliment other more traditional crops. We are always looking for ways to make our practices as ecologically sustainable and climate-friendly as possible. Our glasshouse space is certified as organic by the Soil Association, and we use a stock-free method of horticulture, meaning we do not use any inputs from animal sources. We operate a minimal tillage system, which allows us to build up a healthier, more natural soil structure, whilst reducing dependence on machinery and fossil fuels. Our glasshouses provide plenty of opportunities for wildlife, with spaces deliberately created for insect-friendly plant species, and ponds which are home to frogs and newts. The growing team receive regular help from a fantastic band of dedicated volunteers. If you’d like to learn more about organic food growing and have a few hours a week to spare, we’d love to share our knowledge and experience with you – just give us a shout and you could soon be mucking in!

I simply love our family veg boxes from GWG. It's reassuring to know that their own grown produce is nurtured from seeds that are soil association approved and that they use only organic methods of growing.
